Position Overview

At Algolia, we are passionate about helping developers and product teams connect their users with what matters most in milliseconds. Algolia’s search API powers thousands of customers in over 100 countries, handling billions of search queries monthly. TheJunior Developer Support Engineerrole is critical – you will be the first point of contact for customers needing technical assistance as they implement Algolia’s solutions on web and mobile platforms. Based in the Eastern or Central time zones, you’ll work closely with customer success, product, and engineering teams to solve complex technical challenges. This role offers a competitive annual base salary of$67,000—$96,500 USDas part of our Total Rewards philosophy, along with a flexible, high-trust work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle technical requests via web and email support channels.
  • Conduct professional and empathetic conversations with customers to gather information, troubleshoot, and resolve technical obstacles.
  • Submit bug reports to the Engineering team for issues requiring attention.
  • Partner with Product Teams and Engineering to develop subject matter expertise and serve as a product expert within the support team.
  • Contribute to both internal and external knowledge bases.
  • Participate in internal projects to improve processes and tools.

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to work in the Eastern Time zone.
  • Strong desire to help people solve problems with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to a broad audience.
  • Experience with web development, REST APIs, and database management.
  • Experience in technical customer support, ideally supporting SaaS enterprise software.
  • Working knowledge of development languages such as JavaScript, Java, PHP, C#, Objective-C, Swift, Ruby, and Python.
  • Ability to handle and prioritize a portfolio of tickets at various stages of resolution.
  • Excellent spoken and written English skills.
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation.
