Job Description
Leads team which provides controllership services covering the Medicaid business unit. This includes routine and ad-hoc accounting activities, application of accounting principles to unusual transactions, consolidation activities for CVS financial statements, and financial analysis for the use of the Medicaid finance organization.
Key Responsibilities
Provide accounting guidance and direction to the Medicaid controllership team
Ensure that monthly accounting activities are designed to produce accurate and complete financial results for accounts managed by the group
Provide support for quarterly and annual statutory financial statements and associated actuarial opinions
Design, maintain, and execute the department's internal control program

Ensure the balance sheet is accurate and that all accounts are reconciled on a timely basis
Lead the support for eternal audits of both GAAP and STAT financial statements which include Medicaid activity
Administer the financial communication plan to facilitate the dissemination of information to Medicaid finance leadership.
Communicate financial information with clarity and simplicity and avoids complex terminology to prevent misunderstandings, for non-financial audiences.
Lead the controllership team, supporting continuous improvement, talent development, and process excellence
Required Qualifications
15+ years work experience
Adept at execution and delivery (planning, delivering, and supporting) skills
Adept at application of technical accounting guidance
Adept at collaboration and teamwork
Mastery of problem solving and decision making skills
Mastery of growth mindset (agility and developing yourself and others) skills
Preferred Qualifications
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
Master's degree
Education
Bachelor's degree in relevant professional area required
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.
