Clinical Services RN Coach
About the position
The Clinical Services RN Coach at DaVita Integrated Kidney Care is responsible for enhancing the quality of RN-patient interactions through targeted clinical coaching. This role involves providing both one-on-one and group coaching to nurses, focusing on nursing interventions, risk identification, documentation, and patient follow-up. The position aims to improve nursing performance by utilizing feedback, assessments, and audit trends to guide educational support and accountability for quality patient care.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate RN clinical, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills.
- Provide opportunities for RNs to demonstrate patient care capabilities aligned with the IKC Care Delivery Model.
- Identify learning and performance improvement opportunities and recommend strategies for successful implementation.
- Facilitate accountability for quality patient care through coaching.
- Provide targeted one-on-one and group coaching on identified nursing performance gaps.
- Collaborate with auditing and clinical services to address scaled trends.
- Deliver foundational nursing content that meets Care Delivery Model expectations.
- Participate in the development of educational materials as a subject matter expert.
- Systematically deliver and collect quarterly RN assessments to evaluate coaching success.
- Travel as needed within the market (California, Oregon, Washington).
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required and licensure in state of residence.
- 4 - 6 years of relevant work experience.
- Renal experience preferred.
- Prior management experience preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in student nursing education.
- Experience in healthcare performance coaching.
- Case management experience preferred.
- Population health and/or large payor experience preferred.
- C-suite presentation experience preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
- Prior experience in teaching and coaching remotely.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Current CPR certification preferred.
- Certified Nephrology Nurse or Certified Case Manager preferred.
- Current driver's license with a positive driving record required.
