The Sr. Manager of Reliability Engineering is a subject matter expert in lean maintenance with extensive expertise in creating process improvements that sustain low operating cost and improve asset reliability. The successful candidate has extensive experience in creating reliability programs that can be utilized across multiple sites and which showcase best-in-class maintenance practices and predictive maintenance activities.
Job Description
Essential Job Functions
- Provide leadership and strategic direction for a large, decentralized group of Reliability engineers who are responsible for identifying and eliminating waste, reducing operating and maintenance costs, and increasing uptime.
- Lead, coach, and develop a high performing work team of approximately 20 geographically distributed engineers and enable the team to meet and exceed organization objectives and deliver best practice results.
- Set departmental objectives/KPIs; review and assess ongoing performance of Reliability team members.
- Administer a standardized team onboarding and training program.
- Develop and administer a new site launch readiness program.
- Oversee the development and implementation of quality and process improvement projects that improve operational cost efficiency, employee productivity, and level of customer service.
- Deliver consistent implementation of the reliability program as well as improvement processes, predictive and preventative maintenance programs, achieving aggressive up-time standards and operational cost efficiency.
- Assess risks/issues and make decisions, acting with a sense of urgency.
- Use formal problem-solving techniques to identify and resolve complex problems.
- Lead root cause analysis and other problem-solving activities to identify effective corrective actions and process improvements as needed.
- Develop the next generation of leaders, with an emphasis on building bench strength and succession planning.
- Ability to manage multiple projects / assignments simultaneously.
- Expert leadership skills/ technical background/ reliability engineering/analytical & investigation skills.
Minimum Position Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field
- 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in the Engineering/Operations Excellence fields, with 8+ years managing professional and management associates
- Demonstrated training and proficiency in statistical problem-solving methodology and statistical process control.
- Proven experience of the successful implementation of continuous improvement program using advanced techniques.
- Strong automation engineering experience.
- Solid knowledge of equipment reliability management and strategies.
- Proven leadership in directing and managing industrial maintenance teams (mechanical, electrical, electronic).
- Ability to perform at high levels in a remote, self-directed environment.
- Ability to travel up to 50%

The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, the geographic area in which the work will be performed, market pay rates in that area, and the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.
The compensation for the position is: $140,250.00 - $165,000.00
