Internal Events Manager, Communications, AWS Specialists & Partners ID-6032

AWS Specialists & Partners (ASP) is look for an experienced Events Manager with a deep knowledge of small and large-scale virtual, hybrid and in person event programs, along with exceptional event management, relationship building, and project management skills to manage various internal programs and work streams for the ASP Communications Team.
This role is responsible for the planning of ASP's internal events strategy and the delivery of each event. Including; Quarterly ASP Global Meetings, Ask Me Anything Sessions, Internal Kickoffs and as well as other AWS and Amazon programs as required
This role is key in setting the foundation and framework for program growth, while supporting global collaboration across AWS.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with an aptitude for interpersonal, project management, and analytical skills. The candidate has strong collaboration and influencing skills to manage across complex projects and multiple stakeholders. They are organized, comfortable establishing clear processes, collaborative, have effective written and communication skills, and ability to work backwards from a business problem
They need to have a strong attention to detail and bias for action while balancing driving vs being directed. They must be comfortable taking risks and raising the bar for new ways of doing things. Finally, they must be comfortable engaging with the most senior leaders in AWS, providing them with briefings, status updates and post event evaluations.

Strategic Planning & Program Management
Develop and deliver strategic event programs aligned with ASP's key priorities, focusing on builder engagement and global collaboration
Oversee end-to-end planning and delivery of high-impact internal events, including Quarterly ASP Global Meetings, Ask Me Anything Sessions, and Internal Kickoffs

Event Content & Business Acumen
Drive deep understanding of ASP's business strategy, go-to-market plans, and organizational priorities to ensure event content aligns with business objectives and hottest topics impacting builders.
Analyze and synthesize multiple data sources including event surveys, engagement metrics, and employee feedback to identify content gaps and opportunities
Design compelling event content strategies that address business needs while maintaining high engagement levels
Lead end-to-end content development process with content stakeholder
Partner with subject matter experts to validate technical content accuracy and relevance
Establish content development timelines and maintain rigorous project management to ensure timely delivery
Create and maintain content templates and best practices to enable consistent, high-quality deliverables
Operational Excellence & Risk Management
Lead comprehensive event operations including logistics, venue selection, and delivery of both virtual and in-person events globally
Drive project management through structured planning meetings, clear documentation in Asana, and proactive risk escalation
Implement and create risk management strategies covering safety protocols, crisis management, speaker contingencies, audience overflow and compliance procedures
Own full budget lifecycle including forecasting, optimization, and financial reporting
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
Build and maintain strategic relationships with AWS communications, marketing, events teams and senior leadership
Lead end-to-end vendor management including selection, negotiation, and performance evaluation
Manage speaker and content development process, ensuring bar-raising delivery standards
Create and maintain a SIM directory of places to submit support tickets across Amazon
Communications & Event Support
Drive effective event communications including invitations, briefings, and logistical updates
Provide comprehensive speaker support through reviews, rehearsals, and day-of-event coordination
Conduct regular stakeholder reviews and status updates with ASP Senior Leadership
Leverage internal channels to communicate to builders about each event
Measurement & Continuous Improvement
Define, refine and track success metrics including attendance, engagement scores, and ROI
Lead data-driven post-event analysis and retrospectives
Implement continuous testing and optimization of event logistics methods
Develop recommendations for program improvements based on comprehensive feedback
Additional Requirements
Ability to travel (30%) and work across time zones, including UK, Singapore and Australia
