Senior Cost Accounting Manager ID-1008

Role Responsibilities:

  • Head Cost Accounting Duties: Manage all aspects of cost accounting, including standard costing, variance analysis, inventory valuation, and COGS reporting to ensure adherence to our policies and accounting standards.
  • Develop and Deliver Financial Reports: Generate comprehensive cost analysis, profitability, and manufacturing cost reports for top management, providing key performance indicators and areas for improvement.
  • Oversee Inventory: Handle and review all inventory transactions, reconcile inventory accounts, and implement the best strategies to minimize variances, enhance accuracy and reduce surplus or outdated inventory costs.
  • Examine Excessive and Outdated Inventory: Regularly review and analyze inventory levels to identify surplus and outdated stock. Formulate and execute plans to mitigate inventory write-offs and optimize inventory turnover.
  • Improve Current Processes: Enhance cost accounting systems, controls, and reporting accuracy through the identification and implementation of process improvements. Spearhead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workflows and reduce costs.
  • Perform Cost Assessment: Carry out comprehensive cost examinations for raw materials, labor, overhead, and other manufacturing expenses. Analyze production costs, product margins, and cost structures to support pricing decisions and profitability analysis.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Coordinate with manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, and engineering units to grasp cost drivers and provide financial advice to support strategic plans and operational effectiveness.
  • Guarantee Audit and Adherence: Follow internal controls, company policies, and accounting standards. Assist with external audits and prepare necessary documentation for cost-related audits.
  • Mentor the Team: Guide and nurture the cost accounting team to ensure high performance and promote a culture of ongoing learning and professional development.

 

Qualifications:

  • Main qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field. Professional qualifications like CPA, CMA or an MBA will be an added advantage.
  • A minimum of 10 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment is essential, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • A strong understanding of standard costing, variance analysis, and cost accounting principles is critical.
  • Proficiency in SAP, Oracle or similar ERP systems and advanced Excel skills is necessary.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills are required.
  • Strong communication skills are essential, with the ability to explain complex financial data to those without a financial background.
  • Demonstrated success in process improvement and implementing cost control measures.
  • Detail-oriented, extremely organized and capable of working under tight deadlines.
