Duties and Responsibilities of HR Jobs in Canada:

Recruitment and Retention

  • Engaging the public and promoting the organization’s brand and professions in a positive, extroverted manner while representing the company at job fairs
  • Finish the employment procedure, which encompasses the following: posting job openings, conducting interviews, obtaining references, and hiring.
  • Enhancing the organization’s recruitment and retention strategies in a proactive manner
  • Conduct surveys and retention programs to mitigate employee attrition across the organization.
  • Identify the immigration regulations and how our industry can assist employers in retaining employees who possess valid work permits.

Performance Management:

  • Operate the organization’s hotline to oversee absenteeism and performance.
  • Supervise the team’s internal education initiative, which facilitates its expansion and development.
  • Compile and present performance reviews and check-ins throughout the year (performance reviews are conducted on our employment sites).
  • To ensure that the onboarding process and performance management of new recruits during their probationary period are seamless, it is necessary to review and monitor daily personnel reports, skill development, and training.
  • Ensure that employees are effectively managed and that the necessary outcomes are achieved.

Culture and Events

  • Participate in and supervise business events, as this is a critical component of Para Space’s culture.
  • Every two months, organize team incentives for the organization.
  • Supervise the weekly programs for tenure recognition, anniversaries, life milestones, and condolences.
  • Oversee the content of our Friday email “Para Verse,” employee competitions, surveys, and other initiatives that directly impact culture.

Labour Relations:

  • Providing daily guidance and advice guarantees consistency in the interpretation and execution of the collective agreement.
  • Engages in the collective bargaining process by researching labor relations-related topics, such as historical practices, pertinent laws, workplace issues, grievance-related trends, and case histories, and contributing ideas for negotiating strategies. Furthermore, it develops verbiage for collective agreements, evaluates propositions and their associated costs and benefits, and generates other negotiation materials.
  • Represents management in accelerated arbitrations, labor and classification grievances, appeals, and other dispute resolution procedures.
  • Strives to establish and sustain relationships with union officials and leaders, and actively participates in discussions to resolve prevalent labor relations issues.
  • Grievance management involves the preparation of responses, the surveillance of developments, and the participation in meetings.

General:

  • You may be required to undertake supplementary, sporadic tasks or initiatives as required.
  • Developing and revising policies

  • Foster a positive work environment by working in conjunction with all colleagues.

Qualifications of HR Jobs in Canada

  • A BCOM or BBA degree with a specialization in human resource management or labor relations, which is suitable for post-secondary education
  • At least five years of experience in human resources
  • With a background in labor relations and responsibilities for the management of grievances, the interpretation of collective agreements, and the resolution of progressive discipline issues
  • Proficiency in collective bargaining as the second chair during more than one (1) negotiation cycle
  • A comprehensive understanding of the labor and employment laws of British Columbia
  • Proficient in the use of Google Drive, Microsoft Office, and HRIS (BambooHR); extensive knowledge of employment and immigration
