About the position

The Part Time Package Center Supervisor position at UPS is a critical role that involves supervising, training, and developing workgroups to ensure safety, production, and attendance standards are met. This position is responsible for setting and maintaining high standards for account productivity, accuracy, customer service, organization, communication, cooperation, and safety. The supervisor will provide innovative and effective leadership while cultivating functional working relationships with all levels of personnel throughout the organization. The role requires a proactive approach to managing resources and fostering a positive work environment that emphasizes teamwork and continuous improvement. In this position, the supervisor will develop and maintain good working relationships with employees, management, and customers. They will facilitate training for both new and current employees, ensuring that all team members adhere to safety policies and procedures at all times. The supervisor will manage department resources to maximize output, accuracy, and efficiency, while also establishing a team-oriented work environment that encourages employee involvement and proactive communication. Additionally, the supervisor will implement personal development plans for employees to support their professional growth. This includes ensuring that all department employees receive comprehensive orientation, skills training, safety training, and regular evaluations. The supervisor will play a key role in coaching employees to foster their continued development and adherence to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

Develops and maintains good working relationships with employees, management, and customers.
Facilitates training with new and current employees.
Responsible to ensure that all employees adhere to safety policies and procedures at all times, operating in full compliance with department, station, corporate and local government requirements.
Manages department resources to ensure maximum output, accuracy, and efficiency at all times.
Establishes and promotes a positive, team-oriented work environment emphasizing employee involvement, pro-active communication, inter-departmental cooperation, and continual improvement on all levels.
Implements employee personal development plans as required to ensure the continuing professional growth of department personnel.
Ensures all department employees receive specific and detailed orientation, skills and safety training, appropriate materials and information, regular evaluations, and pro-active coaching to support their continued development.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree or International equivalent - Preferred
Ability to lift 70 lbs./32 kgs.
Availability to work flexible shift hours, up to 5 days per week
Strong oral and written communication skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment
Management experience - Preferred
